These two weavings were created during the early months of the Covid lockdown in 2020. With the world shut down I decided to weave β€œrag” weavings as a way to use fabric that I have been storing over the last 8 years. It seemed sensible to use what I already had on hand. The fabric scraps are from various projects over the years. Most are silk hand dyed using indigo, cochineal, madder root an onion skins. Other pieces are dyed with procion or are store bought fabric printed/metallic polyester. Both are lush and heavy and hold memories of years in the studio.
