Introduction to Tapestry Weaving

95.00

Weaving is an extraordinary and historic feat of human civilization.  We encounter woven fabric everyday, yet easily take for granted.  In this class students will learn the basic fundamentals of weaving techniques such as hatching, supplemental weft, Rya knots and more on provided tapestry looms.   This workshop will offer enough time to experiment with composition and inspire to finish a piece at home.

When: Tuesday, July 25, 5:30-8:30

Each student is provided with a loom, one warp, weaving fiber, and a tapestry needle, and netting shuttle.

This organization is in part by the South Carolina Arts Commission which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
