Artists Kristy Bishop and Camela Guevara completed this series of new works in tapestry weaving  using dyed wool and cotton with all natural materials sourced primarily from plants gathered locally, while traveling, and from the cochineal bug (yields brilliant reds and fuchsias). This series will be a culmination of a long time shared dream by Bishop and Guevara.

Through funding from the Lowcountry Quarterly Arts Grant both artists were able to merge their interests in natural dyeing and textile design to create this series of tapestry weavings.

This project was funded through the city of Charleston office of Cultural Affairs, the city of North Charleston Cultural Arts Program, The Lowcountry Quarterly Arts Grant Program, the John and Susan Bennet Memorial Arts Fund of the Coastal Community Foundation of SC, and the South Carolina Arts Commission which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
